My First ColourPop Haul – with Swatches!

It finally happened: my very own ColourPop haul. Yes, I know I’m insanely behind the times with regards to ColourPop – I think it was because I wasn’t paying enough attention and all of the myriad articles comparing Kylie Jenner’s makeup to ColourPop shades linked the two in my mind. Even though they weren’t actually associated, I find Kylie’s makeup aesthetic to be so far from my taste (I’m trying to be diplomatic here – is it working?) that I kind of subconsciously wrote off ColourPop just based on that tenuous, subconscious link. Plus, you know, I’d held off on buying a lot of new makeup until I did my big destash-and-sell inventory check a few months ago – I was being responsible, yeah? Kind of?

It wasn’t until my beloved Jackie Aina posted a video with a temporary $5 off any order code that I actually decided to go give ColourPop a serious look. I grabbed a few things that immediately jumped out at me from the Jackie-recommended mini-page they had set up (Hammered, More Better, La La, and Come and Get It) – but what really grabbed my attention was the KaePop collab with Karreuche Tran. Yes, old news, I know. But new to me and very much right up my alley – I’d really been slacking on trying out the matte trend, and her nudes and berries and browns actually looked like they’d work on me and not make my lips look grey or washed out (as many of the more popular nude shades do, sadly). And Saigon… well, that would be a test of my daring, because before this order I only owned one kind-of-red lipstick, the MAC x Selena Dreaming of You shade – and that was a deep berry red, even still. I love how red lips look on others, but I’ve always kind of shied away from a true red on my own lips, just out of worry that I wouldn’t be able to pull it off!

I also ended up grabbing their lip primer – since I’d never used matte liquid lips before beyond one Tarte shade, I figured it might be better to be safe rather than sorry – and also netted some mini lippie stix from the ‘mini bar’ promotional area.

Even though I know these shades are not new and have been swatched all over the internet, I thought I’d also make this one of my very first full swatch posts – I mean, since I’m entering the current Western makeup era by finally getting on the Colourpop boat, I might as well also jump onto the swatch bandwagon as well, right? Plus, who knows – maybe my specific skintone with these shades will help someone.

For reference, my only perfect foundation matches are Tarte’s Light-Medium Honey (in winter and probably on my arms, since my arms are lighter than my face) and Medium Honey (if I’ve encountered too many unavoidable DEADLY LASER BEAMS in the summer). So I am a peachy-olive, light-medium type of coloring.

Probably Obvious PSA: Domain Change!

So if you’ve been following me on social media at all, you already know that I changed both my instagram and twitter handles awhile back to reflect my peach mania. I also registered this domain, mostly because I just liked how it sounded and had kind of a vague idea for something to do with it – but after some more thought, I’m going to just use it as my blog domain. As fun as Mint Mairi was, I fucked up by choosing a name that isn’t super intuitive when it comes to spelling and type-ins. So today I’ve moved the site over to its new home here at peachgummy.com 🍑🍑🍑

I’ve also switched web hosts at the same time. I’m hoping that we’ll all notice some performance boosts, as I was getting sick of all the downtime alerts that I’d been getting recently. I’ve moved to SiteGround, which has gained a pretty solid reputation lately – especially for hosting WordPress blogs. Their plans seemed quite generous, too, compared to what I was paying for with Namecheap before. I’m hoping that it works out well! If you’re interested in SiteGround, you can use the affiliate link in this post and net me some free hosting time if you seal the deal, by the way 😘

I am also physically moving in real life this weekend, so the site’s gonna be in this sort of weird in-between limbo for a few days until I get my net set up there and can redesign the site’s look a bit to match its new domain. You know what that means, yeah? Get ready for peach, peach, peach mania!

Once I’m settled in and the site’s looking better, I have a few hauls to post (Sephora, TWO!! Luvmilk packages, Bath & Body Works Semi-Annual and some various K-Beauty goodies from eBay shops) as well as several product reviews that have been simmering for awhile (Shara Shara Green Apple Martini Pore Ampoule, Candy O’Lady Chewy Jelly Cleanser, several sheet masks, Skinfood Dragonfruit Sun Stamp, among many others…) and a few more Blade & Soul presets – all coming sooner rather than later, hopefully!

I also obtained a pretty rad deal on body composition analysis via Groupon, and am planning on doing an experiment where I get analyzed, do the PIIT28 & 28 Day Reset program from Blogilates, and then get analyzed again so I can share the results here in a write-up – so we can see the nitty gritty of how much that program changes me, both in measurements and in-depth. I’m a big fan of the Blogilates monthly calendar already, and have dabbled in PIIT28 before, but I’ve never committed to the 28 Day Reset before – I figured right when I’ve just moved and don’t have any extraneous foods in the house to derail me will be the optimal time to try it out, right?

(I also may have snagged a bunch of the Mermaid Popflex workout clothes as well when coming up with this whole plan… 😇)

I think that’s about everything. Let me know if you find anything that’s broken, though – I’m already aware of missing images in a few posts, but I may be overlooking some other errors that could have hopped along for the ride when moving the site’s databases and files.

Thanks for reading and see you soon!

Hello Care Olive Collagen Sheet Mask Review

Remember how I was planning to step up my sheet mask review game? Hahahahaha, yeah. Good joke, I guess. But I’m actually going to pay up today and give you guys my Hello Care Olive Collagen Sheet Mask Review, since I actually remembered to take photos when I used it two nights ago!

But seriously, guys. This is how crazy my sheet mask backlog has become: I posted this pic of my Hello Care Sheet Mask haul from Asian Food Grocer twenty-six weeks ago, and I’ve only tried a whopping two of them since then.

Got a bunch of clearanced sheet masks today, lucky lucky ? #kbeauty #skincare #shopping

A post shared by M (@mintmairi) on

I may have a problem.

Anyhow, as I alluded to in that insta post, I managed to get these sheet masks dirt cheap when Asian Food Grocer was clearing them out. I guess sheet masks weren’t selling very well for them, because they slashed them all to like 50 cents each and don’t seem to have ever restocked. I grabbed one of each type available, though looking at Hello Care’s website, the Intensive Collagen line has a TON of variations beyond the seven “flavours” that I purchased.

However, today I’m only going to be talking about the Hello Care Intensive Olive Collagen Treatment Mask.

Xaivita Goat Milk Whitening Cream Review

Thanks to my 2014 Memebox spree, my backstash of moisturizers and facial cream is positively insane. Today, I’m going to post my Xaivita Goat Milk Whitening Cream Review – this is a product that I’ve been using for the past eight weeks, but I’ve actually owned since the Cleopatra Memebox was released way back in winter of 2014!! Seriously, guys, this is why I’ve been trying to make 2017 the year of depop, because things are a little out of control…

Anyhow, the Xaivita Goat Milk Whitening Cream is one that I’ve had on my shortlist for when I needed a new wintertime moisturizer, due to its myriad hydrating ingredients. Among other standouts, this cream includes sodium hyaluronate, goat milk at 10,000 ppm, macadamia oil, jojoba esters, niacinamide, and glycerin. It seemed like a great choice for a season where my skin would be battered by cold temperature and winds when outside walking my dog and running errands, you know?

Blade & Soul Preset: Petite Dark-Haired Gon Female

Hello everybody! I’m back with another Blade & Soul preset post ?

This time, I’m uploading a female Gon!

If you follow me on instagram or twitter (or chat with me in-game), you may know that I recently appearance changed my Destroyer. I loved her old look, but something about it just wasn’t quite right for me. Female Gon tend to have a pretty classic face shape, and while my initial Destroyer preset was made with the thought of making her a bit more “Jin” in build (so she’s quite petite compared to most out-of-the-box female Gon and I actively avoided any of the more popular FemGon hairstyles, etc), I did keep that particular trait. But at some point I got it into my head to play with the character builder to see if I could make a Gon with more unique facial structure and less default Gon to as to make my Destroyer feel a bit more personalized.

I ended up totally falling in love with my new “just for fun” preset experiment and paid the money for the appearance change voucher, so I’m going to release my old Destroyer preset here just in case anyone likes her enough to use as their own – or, at least, as a base/jumping off point for their own creation, if not using her exactly.

Limited Edition Pink Marshmallow Peeps Oreos Review

So, Peeps Oreos. I’ll get this out of the way, first: I don’t really like Peeps. It’s not that I find them utterly repulsive, they’re just kind of a let-down. I really like the texture of the crunchy-ish outer sugar sparkle layer. Even better when the Peeps have been exposed to air for a few hours, so that they’re a bit chewier. The problem is that somehow, they just don’t taste right to me. It’s kind of like Twinkies (except Peeps are not offensively repulsive like Twinkies, tbh) – I go in expecting a specific flavor – sugary vanilla marshmallow for Peeps, yellow cake and sweet vanilla cream for Twinkies (instead of the putrid hellcake and whatever that gross cream is supposed to be that, in reality, are somehow so beloved by people without taste buds) – and instead, it’s just kind of… close, but no cigar? There’s just something a little bland about Peeps beyond that initial sugar crust.

So when Oreo announced an Easter/Spring Limited Edition collab with Peeps in the form of Peeps Oreos, it didn’t really gross me out the way it did some people – I kind of figured, okay, at BEST, this is going to be vaguely marshmallow-flavored cream with some sugar crystals and food coloring in between Golden Oreos. Nothing groundbreaking, but the sugar crystal crunch sounded appealing enough that I grabbed a package and tossed in into my cart. Plus, you know, I like to justify my impulsive junk food purchases by promising myself to review them here afterwards ?

So, how did I end up liking these limited edition Oreos? Click the read more for my full Peeps Oreos review!

As I’ve been trying to be better about my health lately, I decided to go for the New Year New You Sample Box – it appeared to have a nice mix of protein powders, protein bars, vitamins, beauty supplements, and probiotics, so I was fairly certain that I’d find something I liked enough to use the $14.99 credit. And even if I didn’t, when I peeked at the possible items that you can apply your credit towards, I saw my current love-of-my-life health item (the Vega post-workout powder, which actually works for me and has been a godsend since I tend towards 2-3 days of DOMS after a good workout and that was making it super, super difficult to progress on a daily challenge type of plan like PIIT28) as one of the possible credit items, so… I was sold!

For my thoughts on the individual items that I received as well as my overall impression of the New Year New You Box, please hit the read more!
