In my last Korean beauty haul post, I mentioned that what I had there was only a small part of my big June Korean beauty splurge – but since I bought from like 5-6 different eBayers, the items are turning up in chunks.
This week I received two more boxes from my June spending spree, and I thought I’d share my selections with you guys again!
As you can see, this time around it’s a Holika Holika & Etude House centered Korean cosmetics haul. I have to admit to really loving Holika Holika’s whole aesthetic, the cute/witchy thing is just maximum adorable to me! Etude House also has a great theme, and both brands tend to usually satisfy/impress me with their products. I need to expand into other brands, I know, but I’m already developing some serious loyalty to these two companies!
Here’s everything unboxed so you can get a better look at the actual product packaging.
Read on to see more pics & the specific items that I bought this time around!
First off is this Etude House Moistfull Cream Sample Kit. I’ve received sample packets of the Collagen cream quite often and liked it, enough that I even ended up purchasing from the line when I needed a new toner and scrub (you can see on my current skincare regime page, I’m using the peeling wash and the facial freshener from the Moistfull Collagen line at the moment). I wanted to give the Collagen cream a shot, because while I totally adore my Dr. Jart+ moisturizer, if I can find a cream of equal quality for 1/3 of the price you know I’m gonna do it! I ended up getting the set rather than the full-size Collagen cream mostly because I wanted to try the Flower cream variety as well. I have a weakness for cherry blossom as both a scent, skincare ingredient, and even food flavor, so when I saw that there was a Moistfull cream with cherry blossom in its formula I knew that I HAD to try it!
My Moistfull Collagen toner is almost gone, and while I really like it (honestly, no complaints at all – I’ll give it a very positive review sometime soon), I can’t deny the temptation to try new products! This time I picked out Holika Holika’s Pure Fresh Fairy Water. First of all, how cute is that name? Honestly, it was a huge factor in my selection, hahaha. It’s made to gently tone and hydrate oily skin, so I thought it might be nice to use in August, which tends to be a hard month for my oily/sensitive skin.
Next is the Holika Holika Naked Face Cover Up Concealer in #2. This has SPF 30 and is rated PA++, but I’m not sure how important that really is for concealer… particularly since my one use so far of this product has shown me that it’s way more dense and high-coverage than most American liquid concealers that I’ve used before. I think that I probably won’t need to apply enough of this product that I’d even get the advertised SPF rating, but I suppose it can’t hurt to give some extra sun protection to any inflamed spots on my skin and under-eye area. I’ll do a proper review of this once I’ve used it a bit more and tried it with various other BB/SPF/etc products. So far it seems pretty good, though – like I said, it’s high-coverage and dense so that the product goes a long way. Plus it’s in an opaque squeeze tube, which is good both for preservation of the SPF elements and for hygiene reasons.
I actually bought three of the Holika Holika Heartful lipstick line (two glossy and one moisture), but so far only the Holika Holika Heartful Moisture Lipstick in PK121 Pink Love has arrived. I love, love, love, looooooooooooove the packaging! The shiny pink tube and the heart-shaped lipstick bullet are freakin’ adorable. I bought this color mostly because of Nana’s review (as an aside, doesn’t she remind you of Allison Harvard from ANTM a bit? Such a lovely girl!), it looked so smooth and wearable on her that I needed to try it for myself.
Even the outer packaging is cute as can be!
Last of my purchases is the Etude House Juicy Cocktail Gradation Nail Set in #7, Peach Crush. I’ve talked a lot about how much I’m feeling peaches, melons, corals, etc this summer, and I’ve been eyeing this kit for quite some time. It just seemed like the time was finally right to give in and give it a try! I hope that Etude’s ombre kits are better than The New Black one that I tried – that set was fantastic at first, but the colors degraded really fast. I had the brown/nude set and within a few months all the polishes went from warm nude undertones to looking really gray and dead. I actually had to toss the entire set after wearing it only twice! So fingers crossed that Etude’s version of those sets is of a better quality, because the shades look delicious as-is… I don’t want them to turn gray D:
And of course, some samples were thrown in with my orders. Tony Moly’s Berrianne Cream, Tony Moly Panda’s Dream White Magic Cream x2, and Etude House Play Therapy Moist UP! Sleeping Pack. I’ll try these out for my Sample Stash Quickie Reviews soon enough!
Overall, I got a lot of fun products to play with… I’m not going to try the toner until I’m finished with my current one, and I think that I’ll be saving the cream set until the weather starts cooling down and my skin needs a bit more moisture – I was initially going to test them out ASAP, but I ran out of my normal moisturizer while I was waiting and just repurchased it since I didn’t know when the set would arrive. So I’m going to finish that cream up first, which will probably last me until around September-ish.
Everything else I’ll be trying out soon (if not already!) so some reviews should be incoming within a month or so.
I purchased these items from bigclothcraft & f2plus1 on eBay this time around. Not personally affiliated (though I do have referral links by way of the eBay program), but I like to let you guys know how/where to get items in case your interest has been piqued.
I am also on Reddit and /r/asianbeauty!
