Korea’s Most Wanted Memebox Review & Unboxing

Today we have another old-ish Memebox unboxing post. This is my Korea’s Most Wanted Memebox review… this box shipped out at the end of August, but I didn’t get it until mid-September… and for some reason this post has been sitting in my drafts, about 3/4 finished, for well over a month! I seriously have no clue what’s up with me, but it’s time to get cracking on this Memebox review backlog, huh?

It’s not even like it wasn’t an exciting box, either – I actually really liked all the products and I’ve been frequently some of them – one item was even the target of attempted theft by my mother because it’s so nifty, haha. But I’m getting ahead of myself a bit, so let’s get back to the basic premise of this box.

It’s a sister act!

Did you know that Memebox Global has an older sister named Memebox Korea?

Both sisters were both born in Seoul, yes, but after Memebox Global’s move to San Francisco, and a long time of separation, the sisters are finally doing something fun! This time, it’s a sister act!

Memebox Global and Memebox Korea are teaming up to bring you Korea’s Most Wanted Box, the best of the best in K-Beauty!

Also a global hub for K-beauty-holics and makeup addicts, Memebox Korea carries only the hottest and most up-to-date Korean trends, and she’s giving us everything from hair and body products to makeup and skin care products so that you can get a taste of real Korean beauty! This box retails at over $100, but you can get yours for only $32!

Who can resist that, right? The hottest beauty trends AND bang for your buck? This was one of the first Memeboxes that I ordered, actually, as it just sounded like such a good introduction to Memebox in general. Honestly, I wasn’t disappointed, and I hope that they do more iterations of this concept in the future!

This box includes a nice mix of items – you’ve got skincare, makeup, nail polish, and even an interesting kind of… utility product, I guess, would be the best way to define it?

If you just want a quick-and-basic idea of what was in the box, here is the front and back of the included information card:

…if you’re interested in more detail and my thoughts on each item, however, please click the read more!

Let’s start with the two makeup items that were included in this Memebox.

makeup helper

Makeup Helper Pact (Full Size)

Randomly selected from Original Pact, Special Romantic Rose Pact, Special Twinkle Crystal Pact, Special Secret Box Pact, Special Lovely Butterfly Pact

Randomly selected from 21 Light Pink, 21 Light Beige, 21 Natural Pink, 21 Natural Beige, 23 Light Pink, 23 Natural Pink, 23 Natural Beige

Enriched with lemon balm extracts and the White Flower Complex made from 7 different flower extracts, Makeup Halper’s famous pact boosts its gentle, natural formula and its strong adherence to skin. Also, it’s delicately scented with a Rose Green Floral fragrance and is greatly loved for its special edition packaging designs and its one-of-a-kind jumbo size!

How to use: Use the included cushion puff to apply the pact over your face, making sure to dab it on several times for full adherence and a long-lasting finish.

Full size: 23g for $23

As you can see in the image, I received the Special Lovely Butterfly Pact. As best I can tell, the only difference between each style of pact is just aesthetic. If you look at the listings for the Original Pact, the Special Secret Box Pact, and the Special Twinkle Crystal Pact, for example, you’ll notice that they all have the same descriptions and color options.

I’m happy with the Butterfly pact, really the only design that I like more is the Special Romantic Rose – but honestly, both are totally pretty and cute so I really have no complaints.

I received the shade, though honestly it doesn’t seem to deposit much color when I use it – I’ve been pretty much just using it as a finishing powder, more for the textural finish that you get from blending a fine powder over your makeup rather than any color correction. It goes on alarmingly light in color, but as I blend it seems to go translucent and kind of disappears, only leaving behind that sort of blurred perfecting effect that you get from clear finishing pacts. It reminds me a lot of my Tony Moly Cat’s Wink Clear Pact, actually. That finishing powder also comes in multiple shades, but as it goes on almost entirely translucent, it’s a bit confusing as to why! I suppose in case you decide to apply a LOT to try and build coverage, the color difference might start showing up? I’ll have to experiment with this a bit for a future review.

But with how I currently use it, I’m really happy with it! Plus having such a gorgeous pact with a big mirror in my purse is really convenient and cute, and it works really nicely to do mattifying/perfecting touch-ups throughout the day.

open shara gloss

Shara Shara Tinted Style Lip Gloss (Full Size)

Randomly selected from 01 Peach Coral or 02 Fuschia Pink

Shara Shara’s Tinted Style Lip Gloss creates a moisturizing coat over your lip for locking in moisture and preventing any dehydration. A single coat of the lip tint adds colorful glow and radiance to your lip, while multiple coats pull off a more vivid signature lip makeup! Plus, there’s no need for reapplications with its extremely long-lasting formula that’ll last you the entire day.

How to use: Apply the lip tint on the inner contours of your lip for featuring natural gradated lip makeup. For a full lip look, outline the outer contours of your lip first and then fill it in completely.

Full size product: 4.5g for $11

Okay, in a few other reviews (my Skinfood Steam Milk Bubble Mask review and my Tony Moly Latte Art Milk-Cacao Pore Pack review), I’ve mentioned this hardcore Shara Shara lip stain that has the persistence of the Martian Manhunter pursuing cookie thieves.

It all started when I swatched this pretty pink color on my hand. As you can tell, I received 02 Fuschia Pink.

shara swatch

It’s a pretty color, no? Very bright, but definitely still wearable and it’s certainly ideal for the graduated color lip look that’s so popular in Korean beauty. I especially like how it looks after blotting – the color remains just as intense, but you lose the super-shiny finish. Sometimes a glossy lip just isn’t what I want, so it’s nice to have a product that works both ways.

You’ll have no worries about the color fading after blotting, or rubbing off on drinks, or kissing off, or anything… because this is some SERIOUS BUSINESS LIP TINT.

srs bz shara

This is after I used makeup remover, oil cleanser, and face wash. It eventually came off after two mask treatments (the two linked above), but holy crap! That’s some stubborn gloss, right? They sure weren’t kidding when they said it had lasting power!

hope girl nail set

Hope Girl Nail Travel Bling Bling Set (Full Size)

Randomly selected from 04 Gold Shine or 09 Neutral Aura

Deck out your nails with this assortment of festive lacquers and appliques. Keep it chic or sleek with 3 layers of full-coverage glitters. Celebrate with elaborative Hope Girl nails that will get you noticed wherever you go!

How to use: Apply the color No. 1 to entire nails. When the color No. 1 slightly dries up, apply a thin coat of the color No. 2 up to 1/2 of your nails. When color No. 2 slightly dries up, apple the color No. 3 only to the end of your nails.

Full size product: 5g x3ea for $14

I don’t have too much to say about this one, simply because I haven’t gotten around to using this polish set yet. I received 09 Neutral Aura, which makes me happy as I tend to love caramel, coffee, and golden nudes on my nails. The colors are certainly pretty in the bottle!

pure mask

Pure Skin Lemon Blueberry Rejuvenating Overnight Mask (Full Size)

Enriched with various organic superfood extracts such as lemon water, blueberry, and broccoli extracts, Pure Skin’s Rejuvenating Overnight Mask works to create a protective, moisturizing barrier over the outer layer of your skin for locking in moisture and delivering abundant nutrition deep down into skin overnight. Its chou cream like texture easily absorbs into irritated and stressed-out skin for deep soothing and rejuvenating effects the next morning.

How to use: Spread the overnight pack generously over your face before going to bed.

Full size product: 100ml for $46

This is a product that, at first, sure sounds appealing – mostly because I think it sounds delicious, tbh. Lemon blueberry? Makes me think of delicious scones or something. However, I’m aware that lemon juice can be damaging to your skin, and I suspect that the lemon oil in this lip balm is what made me have such a horrible reaction (it dried my lips out to the point that they were cracked and bleeding), so I’m wary of the lemon water included in this sleeping mask. I’ll continue to look around and see if lemon water has the potential to be irritating and phototoxic – maybe I’ll ask my PocketDerm doctor, I need to get used to actually having that resource now, haha – but for now I’m going to err on the side of caution and resist the temptation to slather this on before bed.

Have any of you used this item yet? Any negative experiences, or is the lemon water not anything to worry about?

pure skin cooling

Pure Skin Ice Cooling & Soothing Patch (5 Full Size Patches)

Pure Skin’s Ice Cooling & Soothing Patch is a bio cellulose patch for soothing and alleviating skin stimulated from sun exposure. The water lily extracts, menthol, and glacier water work to cool down the skin while the tea tree extracts and aloe vera leaf extracts work to deeply soothe irritated skin.

How to use: Remove the fabric side of the patch and adhere it onto stimulated skin of your body. Rest for 20-30 minutes, remove the patch, and pat in the remaining essence onto the skin.

Full Size Product: $18 for a box of 5 patches

Okay, this is a cool idea. I showed this to my mom and she totally tried to steal the patches, since she likes to work out in the garden during sunny summer days and sometimes manages to get sunburned (or at least overheated) even when using SPF if she forgets to reapply frequently enough. Likewise, I have a few friends who seem to be prone to sunburn when they’re at sports events, and of course this might just be awesome to use on a particularly muggy, hot summer day.

pure skin cooling instructions

I haven’t had a reason to use these yet, and as it’s winter now, I don’t expect to need them for quite some time – but eventually, when the time comes, I’ll totally test these out and post my thoughts! I mean, it does get seriously nasty here in the summer, and reducing your skin temp by -4.9 degrees Celsius sounds pretty refreshing.

blithe pack

Blithe Patting Water Pack (200mL)

Randomly selected from Energy Yellow Citrus & Honey, Soothing & Healing Green Tea, Rejuvenating Purple Berry

No need to stick on a sheet mask every night with Blithe’s all-new Patting Water Pack! Simply through patting on the water pack onto your skin, it’ll remove dead skin cells, deliver moisture and nutrition, and renew the skin balance for maintaining soft, moist skin condition.  The Energy Yellow Citrus & Honey revitalizes and brightens up the skin and the Soothing & Healing Green Tea is for oil and pore control, while the Rejuvenating Purple Berry works to improve skin elasticity and firmness.

How to use: After cleansing, fill 1/4 of the basin with water. Pour in 1 lid-ful (use the lid of the product to measure, about 7 ml) of the Patting Water Pack into the water and mix in well. Then repeatedly pat onto your face with the water pack for 30 seconds. Do not rinse off. Simply let it absorb into your skin.

Full size product: 200ml for $46

I received the Rejuvenating Purple Berry, which smells vaguely grape-y and fruity – don’t worry, not cough medicine grape, it’s quite pleasant actually. I’ve been meaning to try this, but I always forget – I intend to use it before bed one of these days, but I end up being so sleepy that I just do my bare minimum routine and crash. It doesn’t sound particularly complicated, and seems much less time-consuming than the actual sheet masks that it’s supposed to emulate – and given that I do tend to get a little annoyed at having to lay relatively still for 20 minutes per sheet mask, this really does sound good to me!

blithe pack big 1

The ingredients remind me of this yummy “superfruit” Sangria that I got free after this Thanksgiving Day marathon that I did – nice carrot, huh, free bottle of booze – and uh, if the effects are even a fraction as great as said Sangria, this will be amazing. I’m not really sure exactly how much ‘elasticity and firmness’ is a concern for me quite yet, but whatever. Can’t hurt to give my skin some anti-aging care early, right?

blithe pack back

I just need to do my nighttime routine early enough that I have the energy for the extra step. It’s kinda sad when you realize that you’re feeling too wiped to even do a 30 second pack, but in the moment, I really do feel like an extra minute or whatever will just kiiiiiiillllll me cause I wanna sleep right then. I’ll try to remember to use this tonight!

blithe lid

And just saying, I really love the packaging – mostly just because I think the cap is really stylish and attractive. Overall, it’s not too fussy, but a nice combination of sleek and stylish.

all out

So overall, I thought that this was a pretty good box. While I don’t think any of the items were out-of-this-world spectacular, the box included a solid assortment of items that I can see myself using. I’m already using the pact regularly, and while I haven’t had need of the cooling patches yet, I love the idea of them and like having them on hand – next time someone I know managed to get themselves sunburned or we have a really nasty heat wave, I’ll break them out and see if they help ease the discomfort at all.

The polishes, while not particularly unique, are colors that I’ll definitely use; likewise the lip stain. It’s remarkable for its staying power, but it’s not an unusual color – just a very pretty one! The sleeping mask with lemon water is really the only possible disappointment here, though I may be overreacting with paranoia on that front, I don’t know.

But all in all, I feel this was a solid investment – I definitely think that I got my money’s worth, even if the $32 price point for this box was steeper than the usual Memebox cost.

At the moment, there aren’t any new/exciting Memeboxes for me to feature because they’re focusing on their massive year-end sales right now! Basically, just go to the main site and you’ll see a crapton of sales active – if you’ve been eyeing anything in their Shop USA section, you can get 20% off and free shipping there, and everything from their main shop is also on sale as well.

Happy shopping and thanks for reading my late-ass unboxing post!
