This page is just where I’m going to stash various links that I’ve found really helpful during my skincare/cosmetics online explorations.
pH Level of Cleansers Spreadsheet – started by SnowWhiteandthePear and containing contributions from many /r/AsianBeauty members, this is an open-edit spreadsheet to record pH levels of cleansers. I’ll be submitting the results of my cleanser testing now that I have a couple strip kits to test with and compare. While the spreadsheet was started on a subreddit dedicated to Asian beauty products, we are recording brands from all over the world.
The Importance of Fatty Acids, pH & the Moisture Barrier: How I Eliminated my Acne & Decreased my Skin Sensitivity from Skin & Tonics – if you want a fantastic, easy-to-understand explanation of WHY pH in skincare (particularly cleansers) is something worth thinking about, this post has you covered.
Asian Skin Care Guide: The Korean Skin Care Routine – also from Skin & Tonics, this is a really good read for those of you who, like myself, are just getting into the whole realm of Asian beauty products and habits. She does a great job of explaining key differences as well as helpfully showing in what order all these new products should be used!
Giant List of Asian Beauty Bloggers – also compiled by MissPicklesMeow at /r/AsianBeauty, this lists beauty bloggers by their specialty (for example, Asian skincare only VS makeup swatches, etc) as well as skin type (if known) to help people looking for reviews easily find bloggers whose reviews will be most relevant to their skin needs. Awesome idea!
