Valentine’s Day Luvmilk Bath & Body Haul

If you follow me on instagram or twitter, you may have seen me mention that I’ve started doing the PIIT28 program from Blogilates. After a few false starts where I realized I wasn’t quite in shape enough for daily HIIT workouts and ended up doing other programs to get ready for PIIT28, I finally managed to start for real this February.

So far I’m having a lot of fun, but man – the muscle soreness can be real, even with my beloved Vega Sport Recovery Accelerator! I finish each workout pretty sweaty and tired, so I started thinking… wouldn’t it be nice to have a nice, soothing bath after my tougher PIIT sessions?

And, you know, I’d been stalking the Luvmilk shop on Etsy for awhile… who just so happens so specialize in milk baths. And, you know, the shop had just so happened to recently add a bunch of delicious-sounding Valentine’s Day scents…

I mean, you can see where this is going, right? I decided to gift myself some goodies from Luvmilk, both for Valentine’s Day and as kind of a carrot for my continued perserverence in the PIIT28 program – you know, finish the workout, get a luxurious bath. That kind of thing!

And that’s all it took to convince myself! I did try to keep this relatively small, despite Luvmilk having sooo many yummy-sounding scents. It was a bit rough, but my package arrived yesterday and everything smells absolutely fantastic, so I think I chose well ?

So, of course, the star of Luvmilk’s shop is their milk baths. I ended up getting three different kinds: a bath bomb set, a classic milk bath, and a milk bath with added bonus ingredients (kaolin and jojoba oil).

My first selection was a full-size of their classic milk bath in one of the limited edition Valentine’s Day flavors, Kiss Me. This milk bath will turn your bath a nice, creamy pink color, and is supposed to smell like “rich dark and milk chocolates with juicy strawberries.”

I haven’t used it yet, but when I hold the packet up to my nose I can definitely smell a candy-sweet strawberry scent with a hint of milky cocoa. It really does make me hungry for a big, juicy strawberry dipped in chocolate and sprinkles… ??

I’m glad that I got a full size of this one, since it smells so amazing in the bag. Assuming I like the milk bath formula and its effects, I’ll be really happy to have several baths’ worth of this flavor!

The second Valentine’s Day LE that I grabbed was this adorable set of heart-shaped “butter bombs” in the Dahlin’ scent. Dahlin’s is another Valentine’s LE described as “mouth watering black cherries and bitey Merlot” – which sounds pretty amazing to me!

The butter bombs live up to their name with a formula including shea and cocoa butters, as well as grapeseed oil, sodium bicarbonate, and arrowroot powder.

This will probably be the first of the bath products that I try out, simply because it’s been so long since I used a bath bomb. The smell is totally fantastic – when I hold one of the hearts up to my nose, there’s a scent of sugar, some cherry, and definitely a sharp, less sweet but still fruity undertone which I think must be the Merlot. Honestly, it smells so good I’m a little bummed that I didn’t grab something else in this scent (Luvmilk does offer a ton of other bath and body products that I didn’t even touch with my order)!

For my last bath product, I ordered a smaller size of the Daddy’s Princess scent (apparently one of their best-selling fragrances) with some added pampering ingredients mixed into the milk bath – jojoba oil and kaolin clay. I’m interested to see if there’s a noticeable difference in my skin’s texture and softness between the two milk bath formulations. I mean, I’m sure there will be, but it remains to see if it’s big enough to justify paying for the extra mix-ins.

Daddy’s Princess is described as “ripe strawberry meets bubbly champagne and tart cassis” – can you tell that I was feeling the strawberry and alcohol when I placed this order? Honestly, you can kind of blame Siren Soaps for getting me totally hooked on their champagne-and-peony Snow Fairy scent over the winter – I loved that fragrance so much that when I saw the champagne and cassis combo, I was already sold. The addition of strawberry was just icing on the cake for me!

I have to say that this doesn’t have a super boom-pow throw while in its packaging like the other two bath items – it seems lighter. I can definitely get some fruity notes that are probably the blackcurrant/cassis and the strawberry and a lightness that might be the champagne. I’ll note that the strawberry doesn’t seem to be the same super-sugary strawberry that’s present in Kiss Me – this seems a bit less candied. It seems really, really yummy, though, and I can’t wait to smell it actually in the bath!

The last item that I purchased from the Valentine’s Day LE series was – no surprise here – a lip balm. I mean, you know me, I HAVE to try the lip balm from every Etsy shop that I buy anything from – it’s just a rule.

I picked the Love Letter flavor, which is a clear balm with a “sweet peach” scent. Because I have no patience, I’ve started testing this already, and I have to say – it really does taste like someone sliced some slightly-tart peaches and then sprinkled them with a bunch of sugar. It’s an awesome peach scent, because it has this bit of green (I’d say sour, but that’s not quite right – but if you like peaches and nectarines, you know the certain kind of tartness they have before they’re too ripe) feel to it that balances out the definite sugar high.

Here’s the ingredients label –

Ingredients: Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Cetyl Stearyl Alcohol (not an “alcohol” such as rubbing alcohol, which would dry the skin, but a vegetable source emulsifying wax or thickener), Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Beeswax, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Lipids, Lauryl Laurate (a vegetable derived palm), Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, Flavour, Mica (colourant).

So far, I’m quite pleased with the balm itself. It goes on very easily, but has a medium opaque feeling on your lips – it doesn’t just sit there, but it doesn’t absorb TOO quickly so that you keep reapplying over and over. My lips feel really soft and yummy with this on, so I think I’ll definitely try more of Luvmilk’s lip balms in the future!

You can also see in the two above photos that Luvmilk included some sweets with my order ? How cute is that? It fits the adorable confectionary feel of the shop perfectly, IMO!

So all in all, I have a really good impression of Luvmilk so far. The lip balm is excellent – though not quite at Live Beautifully Body or Epically Epic Soap god tier – and the bath items all smell INCREDIBLE. I’ll post a more thorough review once I’ve tried the butter bomb and each milk bath at least once, though.

I hope that you all have/had a great Valentine’s Day, and thanks for checking out my Luvmilk haul ?
